How I hide
Today we started off the school week of 'Z' with a painting zebra craft and talking about how God gave the zebra stripes to hide in the grass. And although they can hide from the lions and tigers they can't hide from God, and neither can we.
Hebrews 4:13 says, 'Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.'
My littlest sprout got into the paint while her sisters were painting their pictures and her deed was indeed uncovered before my eyes (it was all over her face), she didn't know enough to hide.
But it got me thinking how I try to hide. I try to hide my fears, my failures, the ugly things in my heart. I may be able to hide my heart from people but I can't hide from God.
He knows everything about me. He knows my weaknesses, my struggles, my sins, my shames. He know because he made me, and he LOVES me! He loves me in spite of my failures and wrong choices, just as I love my daughter even when she chooses to eat paint. 😋 He loves me, he picks me up, forgives and washes me clean.
Because of Jesus, I have new life everyday. I don't need to hide in shame, I can live in freedom.
