Review: PackTowl
We have been using towels from PackTowl for the last two years now, and I absolutely love them! When we first moved into our bus I was concerned at the space that wash, hand and bath towels would take up in our tiny bathroom, and so I decided to look for some alternatives. I came across these towels from PackTowl, and decided to give it a try!
PackTowl has several different styles and ‘lines’ of towels but the ones we have are the ‘Personal’ line and come in 4 sizes—face, hand, body and beach. We have 2 face towels (I use those for dishes), 2 hand towels (those are for hand and dish drying) and 4 body size (for bathtime).
I was hesitant at first to get a hiking type of towel because I really dislike the fuzzy microfibre type of towels that are out there, but this isn’t that!
These towels are smooth, not fuzzy, very thin and lightweight but very absorbent. I can wring them out and then soak up more water! When they are hung up to dry on a hook in the bathroom or on a line they dry very quickly.
You know that gross damp smell you get from typical bath towels because they take forever to dry? We reuse these towels over and over without any smell. The smallest size that I use for washing dishes drys so fast it doesn’t get gross like other cotton dish rags I have used in the past.
The larger size I actually use for a lot, as a blanket on the grass for baby, to wipe feet before going in the tent, as a little blanket when it is chilly...
I have done a lot of laundry by hand on and off over the years, and one of the worst things is wringing out those massive bath towels. But these PackTowls are so easy to wring out, dry fast, leave no smell, and the whole stack of towels is teeny in our closet.
That all being said, I love our PackTowls and if you need a light, compact, super absorbent towel, give these a try!
