Wooden Tankard CAre Instructions

The wooden tankards from Cabin Fever Bus are one-of-a-kind wooden tankards, made and sealed with natural, food-safe materials. Here are some Instructions on taking care of it.

1.       Fill only with COLD liquids. Hot liquids can damage the natural coating (beeswax) that make the tankard water-proof.

2.       To wash the tankard, use a mild dish detergent with COLD water only.

3.       Over time, a coating of butcher block oil or another food-safe mineral oil can be applied to keep the wood attractive and water-proof.

4.     Every one of our tankards have been tested for leaks and none were found, however leaks can occur over time with use. This is normal, and a block of beeswax is included with each tankard purchased for you to maintain the water-proof qualities of your tankard. Instructions: Place unwrapped beeswax in a small container and melt beeswax in microwave or over low-heat on a stovetop till just melted. Please be careful- it is hot! Apply the melted beeswax with Q-Tip or paintbrush over seams or where the leak is. Rub in with a rag. At this point you can also heat up with a hair blower set on low to allow the wax to melt into the seam more, and then rub in again with a rag.

5.       If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us. Thank you and enjoy your one-of-a-kind tankard!
