Beautiful Bay of Fundy
Taking time to explore is the best part of travelling!
On our way travelling from Manitoba to Nova Scotia this last summer we got to stop at a couple different places along the Bay of Fundy and explore! We went out of our way to travel to the Sea Caves in the Village of St. Martin’s, New Brunswick.

It was amazing to see how the water carved out these huge caves and when tide was out we were able to climb and explore. It was so fun!

We climbed up and over around the corner and discovered a little cove! The girls were in awe of all the seaweed and periwinkles (they were covering the ground). This was at low tide.
It was a perfectly beautiful warm day to explore this gorgeous place!

The rocks are made of a sandy, granulated material and so the water eats away at it, thus causing the caves and holes.
Getting in the bus again we kept travelling on and were wanting to spend the night in Fundy National Park but the campgrounds were booked up. (It happened to be a long weekend in the summer--figures!) So we continued on and were able to make it to Hopewell Rocks that evening (just in time for low tide again!)
Fundy National Park
We made it to Hopewell Rocks (also known as the Flowerpot Rocks) close to Moncton, New Brunswick, around 7:00 PM. The provincial park had just closed, so we parked outside the gates and walked in. We had the place just about to ourselves!

The Bay of Fundy at this spot has a tidal range of 48 feet, meaning that we walk on the ocean floor at low tide and at high tide the water is 48 feet deep! It was awe-inspiring to see these towering rocks over our heads that had been carved by the water tides.
Baby Sprout was pretty tired by this point in the day, but she was still cute!
Seaweed over everything. Can you imagine the water rising as high as the trees?
It was such a fun time to experience as a family this beautiful creation God made.
